The Victorian Wing at Stockham Farm
There are two holiday cottages at Stockham Farm to choose from. The Victorian Wing of the farmhouse sleeps four in two bedrooms and the Piggery sleeps 6 in three bedrooms. Both are situated on the farm, in a truly stunning Exmoor setting – with beautiful, sympathetic decor, panoramic views and tranquility guaranteed. Each cottage has its own private garden area, with tables, chairs and bbqs, and guests in both cottages are also welcome to explore the farm’s 35 acres, where you will find horses, Exmoor Horn sheep and abundant wildlife, including rare Red Deer which come right up to the pond to drink in summer evenings.
The Victorian Wing is the beautifully refurbished and spacious wing of a traditional period Exmoor farmhouse. Completely self-contained, the cottage has the grand farmhouse front door and porch (great for removing muddy boots and drying off muddy paws) which leads into the large sitting-room. This warm, welcoming and characterful room boasts underfloor heating, as well as a fabulous inglenook fireplace and wood-burning stove! With comfy chairs, a huge sofa, bookcases, board games and a smart TV, all creature comforts are there for you.
From a half-landing you will find the bespoke kitchen/dining-room with views of the orchard from the old pine table, as well as the luxury bathroom. These two rooms both have underfloor heating, and the kitchen has a dishwasher, a washing machine and a microwave in addition to the ceramic hob and fan assisted oven. On the first floor both of the cosy, comfortable bedrooms have lovely rural views across the paddocks to the hills beyond. One bedroom has a kingsize bed and the other has a superking size bed that can be changed into a pair of full size twin beds if guests prefer.
We have excellent satellite broadband at Stockham and really good wifi that extends throughout the cottages and outside too! 4G reception is also good, as is mobile reception for EE and Three.
The self-contained Victorian Wing of Stockham Farm is the left hand side of the farmhouse, as seen in all the images of the house itself, with exclusive use of the main red front door and porch to access your holiday home. Parking for your cars is right outside the door. Although we live next door, the cottage is completely self-contained and you really won’t know we’re there – many of the warm, honest reviews from previous guests will attest to this!
The Piggery can be found just 50 metres above the house, close to the stables and with its own parking area alongside the fenced small pond.
It is possible to let both properties together (sleeping 10) or separately – the farm is big enough for two parties to enjoy a holiday separately and peacefully.
Stockham is less than one and a half miles up into the hills above the lovely small market town of Dulverton and with easy access to the open moorland and wooded valleys of Exmoor – perfect for four-legged friends – this location really is the best of both worlds.
Dulverton is an idyllic small town, full of friendly independent shops, and affectionately known as the Gateway to Exmoor. You can discover the bridge over the River Barle, the Co-Op, the delicatessen, the butchers, the bakers, the greengrocers, numerous tea rooms, Isis Beauty Salon, fabulous independent shops, Rothwell & Dunworth rare bookshop, three hairdressers, and delicious food and amazing service at Woods Bar and Restaurant and the Bridge Inn. Don’t miss a peek into beautiful All Saints Church, especially with its incredible carpet of snowdrops in early spring.

A magical space in a very special place! A haven of peace and tranquility hidden away on the edge of Exmoor. Well done Jeff and Ali for creating such a wonderful holiday experience! We will be back sometime soon. Dennis (the dog) felt very relaxed here!

Lovely accommodation set in a very peaceful and tranquil position. Both bedrooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. They have views over the gardens and paddocks. The kitchen/diner is large and airy. Very well equipped with everything you could need. The lounge is very welcoming with comfy sofas and a lovely inglenook fireplace with a woodburner stove. There is a lovely garden with plenty of chairs to relax in. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and suggested quite a few places to visit. We had a great bbq with them on our last night. We were made to feel very welcome and would return for a longer visit next time.
