Dine in or out on Exmoor
Whether you decide to eat in or eat out whilst on holiday at Stockham Farm, the choice is endless. Both cottages at Stockham Farm have kettle BBQs in their private gardens. They also have pots filled with growing herbs of all varieties to add flavour to that special home-cooked meal.

For the best possible Thai takeaway meal (or to dine in), Dulverton’s Tongdam Thai is simply unbeatable; and our Dulverton Fish n Chip Shop is fab too.
Over the past couple of years, we have been delighted to receive fabulous reviews from our guests of two local small businesses.
Dulverton company Croft & Cottage will prepare a delicious home cooked meal for you which they will deliver to Stockham and pop in the fridge or freezer in readiness for your arrival.
Alternatively, you may wish to have a private chef prepare and serve a meal for you in your cottage at Stockham. Thir13en’s private chef Ben and his partner Isabella create bespoke fine dining experiences for you on holiday. They use the best locally sourced ingredients to showcase what Exmoor has to offer.
Where to eat out on Exmoor
We have an amazing selection of remarkable, welcoming pubs and restaurants close to Stockham, all of which are dog friendly too!
Less than a mile and a half from Stockham down the hill into Dulverton, you will find the multi award-winning Woods of Dulverton – a wonderful mixture of a great locals’ pub and fine dining restaurant, with an incredible wine list! The Bridge Inn beside the River Barle has recently re-opened under new management and the feedback has been fab so far! Dulverton also has The Lion Hotel which offers good meals to non-residents.
A short hop in the other direction can bring you to The George Inn at nearby Brompton Regis.
Slightly further afield, we also highly recommend The Royal Oak in Winsford, the Bittescombe Inn at Upton, near Wimbleball Lake, the Tarr Farm Inn at Tarr Steps, The Royal Oak in Withypool, The Exmoor Forest Inn in Simonsbath, The Royal Oak in Luxborough, The Red Lion in Oakford, The London Inn, Molland, The Black Venus at Challacombe and The Rising Sun in Lynmouth.
If you’re searching for a place with a Michelin Star, there is The Masons Arms, Knowstone not far away! There are many more places to eat across Exmoor, but these are some of our favourite haunts!
If it’s a fabulous cream tea you’re after (or just mouthwatering cake!), then we also recommend the following local tea rooms: The Copper Kettle in Dulverton, Marsh Bridge Cottage just outside Dulverton, Withypool Tea Room in Withypool, The Bridge Cottage Tearoom in Winsford, Boevey’s Tea Room in Simonsbath and Periwinkle Cottage Tea Rooms in Selworthy.
